Officially a Music Theorist

At Crossroads College, the goal of every Music Theory student is to become a "musical snob." A musical snob is a person who can look at a song and tell you why the Neopolitan 6 chord was used there and how it was leading to a foreign key. Musical snobs get together in little groups and talk about Italian 6 chords and chromatic mediants and about the song they just heard that explores atonality. Only the true Theory Geeks make it this far.

Today, my professor present me, and the other students in my class, the official card, proclaiming us musical snobs.

I just thought I'd share my exciting news with you and, perhaps, illustrate to you just how snobbish we card-carriers can be.

Well, congratulations on your newly acquired snobbery status! I am excited for you (and a little envious) that you're learning so much about music while you're still young--good girl.

Well well! Someday we'll have to get together and talk....but just not about Neopolitin 6th chords...Italian or otherwise! :) Have fun!

Congratulations! I have wanted to become a "musical snob" but have never made it that far.
